Join Glyndebourne in discovering the opera stars of tomorrow at the final of the Glyndebourne Opera Cup – an international competition designed to discover the best young singers around the world.
The Final will be the culmination of a long journey for the singers. Following preliminary rounds in Cape Town, Berlin, London, Milan, Paris, Vienna and New York, up to 20 ambitious young singers will go head-to-head on Glyndebourne’s main stage in the Semi-final. They’ll be demonstrating their skill with French 19th century repertoire and the works of Mozart and Rossini, vying for one of only six places in the Final. The winner will be selected by an illustrious international jury chaired by Glyndebourne’s Artistic Director Stephen Langridge.
The winner will receive a top prize of £15,000 and the guarantee of a professional role at a top international opera house.
The six finalists perform, accompanied by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, before the prize winners are announced.
Announcement of Prizewinners: 9.00pm – 9.30pm
Broadcast live on Sky Arts.
