Part Three: Exile?

Changing Faces: Stravinsky's Journey

September 1939. The unthinkable becomes reality as Germany invades Poland and Britain and France enter a war that would see the deaths of over 50 million people. Stravinsky, survivor of one world war, takes a steamer boat to Manhattan. He would not set foot in Europe for a decade. Filled with new inspirations and sounds we explore what impact the United States had on our émigré celebrity.
