Summer Gala 2017

Each season the special events calendar culminates in a Gala Evening in support of the Orchestra's work

On Tuesday 6 June we welcomed over 280 guests to the stunning Banqueting House on Whitehall for our 2017 Summer Gala.

It was a wonderfully celebratory evening, marking the the 10th year of the Orchestra's extraordinary collaboration with Principal Conductor and Artistic Advisor, Vladimir Jurowski. The musical recital, an undoubted highlight of the evening, included some of Jurowski’s own favourite operatic repertoire and we were delighted to welcome soloists Sarah Connolly, Rod Gilfry, Barbara Hannigan and Toby Spence to join us on stage.

Thanks to the incredible generosity of our supporters it also proved a record-breaking evening and over £242,000 was raised. These much needed funds will go directly towards supporting the work of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, particularly Jurowski's projects, as well as our commitment to new music, our community and education programme and our drive to continue as London’s most creative and adventurous symphony orchestra.

The London Philharmonic Orchestra is grateful to the following individuals and organisations in particular for their support of the 2017 Summer Gala:
Lord Mark Poltimore, Centre Georges Pompidou, Christian Dior Couture, Sarah Connolly CBE, Eurostar, Prince de Galles Hotel, Andy Barclay, Juliette Bausor, David and Patricia Buck, Cheyne Walk Brasserie, Andrew Davenport, Lord Hall of Birkenhead, Cozmo Jenks, Kmossed, James & Julia Korner, Susanne Martens, Rachel Masters, Anne McAneney, Sir Bernard Rix, Gerald Scarfe CBE, Pieter Schoeman, Caroline Tate, Elisabeth Wiklander, William de Winton
