On Friday 25 April 2014 at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall, Vladimir Jurowski conducted the London Philharmonic Orchestra in a programme of music by Rimsky-Korsakov, Rodrigo and Tchaikovsky, with guitar soloist Miloš Karadaglić.
Here are the press reviews...
'Vladimir Jurowski took great care to point accents clearly and lightly and the London Philharmonic's ensemble was immaculate. Indeed, it was a brilliantly played, colourful and exciting performance ... This was an evening of well-known works, but no feeling of bored familiarity was evident, for the music-making was so alive and fresh.'
Alan Sanders, Classical Source, 26 April 2014
'[Milos's] finely-judged solo opening – echoed by the London Philharmonic held on a tight rein by Vladimir Jurowski – was the prelude to an exploration of the concerto's imagined landscape, through a musical conversation in which Milos's playing had a notably restrained eloquence.'
Michael Church, The Independent, 28 April 2014
