Reviews
‘Here’s a delightful disc of Christmas music by three major composers … Vladimir Jurowski is a conductor whose repertoire seems to know no bounds and whose imaginative programming is a constant source of pleasure. Here he shows himself a capable Bach conductor, a fiery advocate for a little-known work by Mendelssohn and an imaginative and sensitive interpreter of one of Vaughan Williams’s rarer works … The Vaughan Williams is beautifully done … The soloists are admirable too … What stands out, though, are the big choruses, which are not only rhythmical and transparent but also properly festive and stirring … Warmly recommended.’
