The Band: spring course, April 2014

Do you know any young people aged 15-19 who are interested in creating their own music and working with professional musicians?

The Band is the London Philharmonic Orchestra’s ensemble for young people aged 15-19. The course offers members the chance to write and perform their own music, while taking influence from their fellow group members and the musical styles that they love. Our members work with musicians from the LPO in each session, drawing inspiration from a wide range of musical styles to create their own tracks. The Band welcomes participants performing on any instrument with any musical background (orchestral, non-orchestral and voice). There are no auditions, and you don’t have to be able to read music.

Sign up for The Band's Spring course below. It is completely free to join us - all we require is your enthusiasm and commitment!

This term’s project is inspired by the London Philharmonic Orchestra's concert on Saturday 12 April, featuring the world premiere of Górecki’s Symphony No.4. The Band will be writing our own brand new material inspired by Górecki’s work, ready for a performance on the Spirit Level at Southbank Centre's Royal Festival Hall before the evening concert.
