COVID-19 update for April/May LPO concerts

Further to the recent announcement relating to the cancellation of our concerts up to 17 April, and in response to more recent Government updates, it is with deep regret that we have to inform you of the cancellation of the remainder of our Royal Festival Hall concerts in the 19/20 season up to and including Friday 27 May. We take the health and safety of our audiences, players and staff very seriously and must act responsibly in relation to the Government's advice on Covid-19.

Bookers have been informed separately on how to request their refund or credit note, and also how to offer their ticket value as a donation instead if they prefer.

At a time like this the support of our members, donors and audiences is crucial. We know that there are many organisations asking for support to help see them through this period and we also understand that not everyone is able to support us in this way. For those that can, your support will ensure  that when the Orchestra returns it does so as the Orchestra you know and love with our exceptionally talented musicians, our adventurous concert programmes and our incredibly busy Education and Community programme.

Along with supporting our musicians, donations will ensure that, after this crisis, we are able to continue doing all that you know us for by securing the long-term financial viability of the Orchestra. We ask those that are able to consider making a donation either by donating the cost of your ticket order (or part of) or by donating directly to our ‘Play On Appeal’. We are extremely grateful to all those who have already made donations back to the Orchestra. Thank you. This money will go directly to our musicians and particularly those who will not be eligible to access the Government’s support package for self-employed workers. We will continue to support all of our musicians who need our help throughout this period.

Thank you for being part of our loyal and valued audience. We send you our very best wishes and look forward to sharing our live music with you again soon.
