LPO on Classical Live

On Friday 13 November the London Philharmonic Orchestra releases its first albums of Prokofiev, Stravinsky and Lindberg on Classical Live. Classical Live is a worldwide partnership with Google Play Music that enables a handful of the world's finest orchestras to share key recent performances with a global audience.

Subscribers of the service can now stream or download the live recording of the concert on 21 March 2015, in which Vladimir Jurowski conducted excerpts from Prokofiev's Chout, Stravinsky's Petrushka and the UK premiere of Magnus Lindberg's Piano Concerto No.2, performed by Yefim Bronfman.

The concert received fantastic reviews:

'Jurowski shaped an exceptionally vivid performance that stressed the music's originality and timeless appeal' **** John Allison, The Telegraph, 22 March 2015

'But by the time Bronfman hurtled across the finishing line one wanted to stand and cheer ... Another evening of ambition and high quality from the London Philharmonic Orchestra' **** Richard Fairman, Financial Times, 23 March 2015

Timothy Walker, Chief Executive and Artistic Director of the London Philharmonic Orchestra, said of the Classical Live service:

"Orchestras in the 21st century are vibrant organizations that embrace new ways of reaching audiences – and offering recordings of our live concerts via Classical Live on Google Play helps us to share our music-making worldwide. Our opening program features the UK premiere of the Piano Concerto No. 2 by our Composer-in-Residence, Magnus Lindberg."
