A message from Timothy Walker CBE AM, Chief Executive & Artistic Director, London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Dear friends,

As the world becomes a very different place from the one we are used to, the LPO is continuing to bring music to you by replacing our scheduled live concerts with online playlists and recordings, many illuminated by personal and eye-opening introductions from our musicians. We are also posting regular live videos of our members’ varied and resourceful music-making activities while in lockdown – please do listen if you can, via our new LPOnline homepage.

I would like to thank all our audiences, supporters and friends for the support you have shown so far, for your kind messages and for your generous donations in lieu of ticket refunds.

Please do keep in touch with us as we continue to work remotely. It’s immensely encouraging and galvanising to hear from you, and to stay connected amid these troubling and dislocating times.

The Government and Arts Council England are committed to helping us navigate this period, but without concerts, tours or recordings we are facing extremely difficult weeks and months ahead. We need to survive this crisis and we need your help to do so. Please visit our Support Us pages to find out how you can help our musicians.

Our Principal Conductor, Vladimir Jurowski, and his successor in 2021, Edward Gardner, together with our newly announced Principal Guest Conductor, Karina Canellakis, join me in wishing you continued enjoyment of the music of the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Stay safe and well.

With my very best wishes,
Timothy Walker CBE AM
Chief Executive & Artistic Director
