Ji-Hyun (JiJi) Lee was born in Seoul, South Korea. She studied at Seoul Arts High School and then in 2005 moved to Paris to study with Roland Daugareil at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique de Paris. After completing her studies there she went to the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR), becoming Concertmaster of the Cycle Perfectionnement-Formation d'Orchestre.
JiJi performed as a member of the Academy of the Orchestre de Paris in 2007/08 and has participated in festival orchestras around the world including the Verbier Festival Orchestra and Festival Chamber Orchestra, the Lucerne Festival Academy Orchestra and the Pacific Music Festival Orchestra. She is regularly invited to lead the Orchestre Lauréats de Conservatoire and the Orchestre Prométhée in Paris. She participated in a masterclass and several concert projects at IRCAM with Pierre Boulez, and has since been regularly invited to take part in contemporary music projects there.
JiJi began her trial with the LPO as No. 5 First Violin aged 24, and has held her permanent position since 2013.
