Premieres

Performing newly written works for orchestra is an important part of our London season.

Premieres

Commissions and premieres

The London Philharmonic Orchestra is proud of its long history of commissioning new music from an illustrious list of composers. Commissions are often made in partnership with other orchestras or venues, to ensure that the new work receives multiple performances across the world.

We also bring newly written works to London that have been commissioned and premiered elsewhere in the world, but that have not been heard in the UK or London before.

Without new music, the orchestral repertoire stagnates. But commissioning also requires financial support.
