IGUDESMAN & JOO: BIG Nightmare Music

IGUDESMAN & JOO’s musical madness on a symphonic scale

7:30 PM, Royal Festival Hall, London

Aleksey Igudesman violin
Hyung-Ki Joo piano
London Philharmonic Orchestra

When IGUDESMAN & JOO perform with a symphony orchestra, the musical nightmares take on epic proportions! On top of a few priceless adaptions from IGUDESMAN & JOO’s duo-show ‘A Little Nightmare Music’, including Mozart Bond, Alla Molto Turca and Practice Time, ‘BIG Nightmare Music’ boasts uproarious sketches tailor-made for a symphony orchestra, drawing everyone into their act, from the first violinist to the last percussionist. ‘BIG Nightmare Music’ is the kind of show where the musicians on stage have at least as much fun as the audience.

IGUDESMAN & JOO have mastered the art of mashing up classical music masterpieces and famous folk and pop songs. In ‘BIG Nightmare Music’ they’ll work with the London Philharmonic Orchestra to live out their creativity. What’s more, you will have the added opportunity of hearing Aleksey Igudesman and Hyung-ki Joo perform as soloists, both in well-known concertos and in their own orchestral works.

Featuring works including From Mozart with Love, Rachmaninoff by Himself and A Very Blue Danube, you’ll hear IGUDESMAN & JOO transform well-known classical pieces with their own unique twist!

Having had the great pleasure to have shared a stage with my friends Aleksey Igudesman and Hyung-ki Joo, I can tell you that even from up-close they are the real thing. They are extremely funny, very original, and highly-skilled musicians to boot. Their mix of classical music and comedy is absolutely unique.’ John Malkovich – Actor
