LPO Schools Programme - Frequently asked questions

Can we come to your BrightSparks schools concerts?
Schools can apply for tickets to BrightSparks concerts online when booking is open. Schools that are on the mailing list will receive email notification of when booking is live. If you are not on the mailing list and would like to be please contact education@lpo.org.uk. Tickets for the BrightSparks Concerts are given out free of charge, on a first come first served basis.

We are not in central London. Can we still apply for BrightSparks tickets?
Yes, applications are accepted from all schools, but priority is given to Greenwich, Lambeth, Lewisham and Southwark.

Do we have to pay for
BrightSparks tickets?
No, tickets are given to schools FREE of charge. However, late cancellation or failure to turn up for a concert without at least one month's notice will result in the school being charged £3.50 per ticket.

What if I need to cancel our BrightSparks tickets?
Cancellations will be accepted up to a month prior to the concert. Please contact the LPO box Office on 020 7840 4205. As per the terms and conditions of booking, if tickets are canceled within a month of the concert a charge of £3.50 per ticket will be made to the school.

What happens if we fail to turn up to a BrightSparks concert?
As per the terms and conditions of booking, schools that fail to turn up to a BrightSparks concert without giving at least one month's notice will be charged £3.50 per ticket.

If we don’t turn up to a concert and fail to give at least a month’s notice, why are we charged £3.50 per ticket?
The BrightSparks concerts take a great amount of personnel and financial resources to deliver. The £3.50 charge aims to re-coup some of the loss incurred when a school doesn’t turn up. We are also required to report back to our supporter Deutsche Bank on attendance figures and explain any absences.

Does the LPO issue a Risk Assessment document to schools for Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall?
No, the LPO does not issue a risk assessment. However the LPO can email risk assessment notes upon request, please contact education@lpo.org.uk

Is there somewhere for us to eat our packed lunch in the Royal Festival Hall?
